Why this sign? Everyone loves tricks!
Think about your mindset and emotional state when you have your dog perform tricks. How about your dog’s mindset and emotional state? Are you having a blast and telling them how awesome they are, so they’re having a blast too? Why make training on Rally courses any less fun? We so often get serious and grind our way through courses which sucks the fun out. I created this sign to bring the fun back and to provide a boost to emotions, confidence and ego.
Whatever trick you choose, should be something that your dog can perform with ease and it should be something they love to do as if they're showing off everytime they do it! Precision should not be required, effort and fun should!
Some ideas: sit pretty, speak, wave, high five, leg weaves, spin, roll over. Whatever your dog loves!
Including something like this into a training routine changes our mindset and emotion as much as it does our dog's.

Sign Description
HALT – Favorite Trick – While heeling, the handler halts and the dog sits in heel position. The dog must perform a favorite trick. The handler may signal or command the dog to return to heel position and sit, or may heel forward before the dog returns to heel position. (Stationary).
NOTE: The sign description shouldn't be taken seriously. Since fun is the goal, adapt as you wish.
