Frequently Asked Questions
Is ScentIQ an official AKC Scent Work app?
No. ScentIQ is an independent tool designed to help handlers track events, hides, judges, Q/NQ results, and performance analytics. It is not affiliated with the AKC.
Does ScentIQ retrieve official results or data from the AKC website?
No. ScentIQ does not pull or import data from the AKC. Everything in the app is based on what you enter. If you add an AKC event number to an event, ScentIQ provides a direct link to the official AKC results page once AKC posts them. This is simply for cross-checking your entries with AKC’s recorded results.
Does ScentIQ track hides and areas?
Yes. ScentIQ records detailed hide-level and area-level information including odor, height, location type, conditions, and more.
Do I need a subscription?
The free version lets you explore the basics. A subscription unlocks full event entry, hide tracking, stats, cloud sync, and data export.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Subscribers get secure cloud storage and sync across devices. If you ever lose or replace a phone, your data will be waiting for you when you log in again. If your subscription lapses, everything is still preserved and available when you resubscribe.
Is my data shared?
No. Your data is your data. ScentIQ does not share, sell, or send your information to anyone. Your data is used only within the app for your own experience.
Can ScentIQ be used for NACSW?
Not yet. I had to start somewhere, and because scent work trials are extraordinarily complex, building support for multiple organizations at once would have slowed everything down (and probably melted my brain). NACSW support is planned for a future version, but I can’t give a timeline yet.
